Nearby restaurants and shops: The village of Strachur only 2 miles away has a village shop/post office, tea room, garage, village pub (The Clachan), tennis courts and the Creggans Inn which serves excellent cuisine in the restaurant and bar. There is also the world famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Shop only 7 miles away which serves high quality local seafood and produce and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They hold an annual Seafood Festival in May.
Walking, cycling, climbing and fishing: It is an excellent area for walking , climbing and cycling. Forest walks are plentiful in the nearby Argyll Forest and the area is surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains ideal for the hill walker. The highest local mountains are Bein Ime (3318 feet), The Fiddler (2260 feet) and behind the cottage Cruach nan Capull (1854 feet). For something flatter there is the Old Shore Road (now just a track road) in front of the cottage which winds along the banks of the loch.
