Podere Montepulciano sits on a hill just ten minutes drive away from captivating Renaissance town Pienza. The villa overlooks the striking scenery of the Orcia Valley, an enchanting and miraculously unspoilt valley in southern Tuscany, listed as UNESCO world heritage in 2004. The valley is above all renowned for its wine, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and the succulent T-bone steaks from the wide-horned white Chianina cattle.
Carefully restored to respect the charming original architecture, this beautiful farmhouse has been updated with modern comforts. The beauty of the superb panorama, which includes an incredible view of Montupluciano, can be enjoyed from three different terraces. There is also a lovely pool and pool house. The entire property of 6 acres is fenced and the garden surrounding the villa has a computerized irrigation system from two artesian wells, maintaining olive trees, cypresses, maritime pines, fruit trees and many flowers. Parking is within the security gate.
Montepulciano is only 8 km distant. There you will find a good selection shops and restaurants. Florence and Siena are within easy reach (approx. 1 or 1.5 hours drive), Città della Pieve is 55 km, Arezzo with its famous cycle of frescoes by Piero della Francesca and its antique market is 50 km distant. The Orcia Valley has other treasures such as Monticchiello, Montalcino, Sant'Anna in Camprena (which served as location for the film The English Patient) and Bagno Vigoni with its luxurious spa. Fashion addicts can splurge out at the famous Prada factory outlet, which lies on to road to Florence.
