Casa Montaña is on the beautiful Urbanisation of Mijas La Nueva, famed as one of the most prestigious areas on the Costa del Sol.
The air-conditioned interior of Casa Montaña is furnished comfortably in the ‘rustic’ style, very much in keeping with its Spanish surroundings. The villa sleeps six in three airy, pretty bedrooms – two doubles and one twin. One of the doubles is en-suite, and there is a family bathroom and a separate shower room next to the other two bedrooms.
Downstairs, the living space is charming. The lounge is divided into two areas, the main one having satellite TV and comfortable seating.
The other area is off to the side of the main room – a good place to sneak a glass of Rioja in peace maybe? It’s a bit of a cliché, but this property is ‘tardis-like’, just when you think you’ve seen all of it, another room appears. There is a separate dining room for a formal holiday dinner and just off the kitchen is a wonderful sun lounge with another dining table and chairs, a great place for a leisurely breakfast looking out onto the garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave, the washing machine and dryer are in a separate utility/storage room. The house has the benefit of Wifi Internet payable at small additional cost.
Outside is a good sized pool and lovely mature gardens. The pool is enclosed on three sides giving an element of access control for families with smaller children.
The views from the garden are truly wonderful. On one side there are the mountains of the Sierra de Las Nieves and on the other, views over Fuengirola to the Mediterranean Sea. At night the lights of the Costa take over and give a fantastic display to accompany your alfresco meal, which you will no doubt have cooked one of the properties BBQ’s.
Casa Montaña gives you a feel for the tradition Spanish way of life with all the comforts you would expect from a villa holiday.
Mijas, which is just a few minutes away, is a traditional white village offering friendly restaurants, lovely narrow streets to explore, museums and local crafts to enjoy. Nearby is the sophisticated town of Fuengirola with its beaches, cafes, great shopping and a wide choice of entertainment.
