Geography
The Republic of Seychelles is made up of 115 islands situated in the western Indian Ocean. This archipelago of legendary beauty extends from between 4 and 10 degrees south of the Equator Of the 115 islands, 41 are granite ‘Inner Island’ and the remaining 74 comprise of low-lying coralline islands as well as few atolls of the ‘Outer Islands’.
The granite islands cluster around the main island of Mahé that offers the strategic infrastructure of the country. The capital, Victoria, as well as the International Airport are here.
Together, these granite Inner Islands form the cultural and economic hub of the nation and have the majority of Seychelles’ tourism facilities as well as its most stunning beaches.
Climate
