The cottage waterfront terrace has built in seating, deck chairs, loungers and a simple BBQ. It has a rush matting roof in the summer to protect you from the sun and it is the place where guests spend all their time when they are not out and about. If you want to get to know Montenegro and the Montenegrins and seep yourself in local life this is the place, but not for those who seek peace, quiet and isolation.
Lepetane was, at one time, within the borders of Croatia so many of the residents are Croatian and Catholic. Hundreds of years ago the village was situated up in the mountains above the present village at Upper Lepetane. There are still some people who live there and you can walk up the old village if you have the energy! Lepetane is not a tourist resort, but a residential village whose population doubles in the summer months when locals rent out rooms and apartments to people from all over Europe. The Ferries cross from Lepetane to Kamenari continually giving easy access to the other side of the fjord. Tickets are E4 and the crossing takes just minutes. Foot passengers travel free so take advantage and hop on the ferry for a view from the other side. We go across for a meal in the evenings sometimes, when we don't feel like driving. There is a small boutique hotel that does a nice supper. Turn left off the ferry and walk a few hundred meters and you will see it on the right.
