Villa ʻAmici del sorrisoʼ is located within easy access of the Abruzzan Mountain village of Villa Celiera is only 45 minutes from beautiful adriatic beaches a similar distance from Pescara Airport

This recently developed simple self contained villa sleeps up to 12 people has 4 bedrooms (3 of which have en-suite bathrooms) a large living areas, kitchen, family bathroom and washing facilities. Externally the property has ample parking space, a set of gardens, a terrace with dining table and chairs and BBQ facilities.

Only 40 minutes from the city and airport of Pescara lies Villa Celiera and the Vestina area. The region combines stunning nature, unique cuisine and traditional cultures in an unspoilt captivating way. In a small geographical area you will find rolling vineyards, olive groives, mountain ranges, medieval villages, festivals, traditions and food unlike the more famous areas of Italy. As yet still undiscovered and exploited you will see an Italy few have yet experienced.

The Area

The majority of the area lies in the National Park ‘Gran Sasso e monti della laga’. This covers some of the most spectacular scenery in Italy and includes high ’Tibet’ like planes such as Voltigno and Campo Imperatore, mountain peaks such as Monte Bertona, far streching Beech woods, rivers and small lakes. The park boasts more than two thousand plant species, some of which are found exclusively in this area, an example being the Abruzzo Edelweiss. Many species of wildlife inhabit the park, including rare animals such as the Abruzzo Chamois, as well as wolves, roe deer, wildcats, wild boars, foxes and squirrels. Notable birds include Golden Eagles, White-backed Woodpeckers, goshawks, Common Buzzards and the Peregrine Falcone. There are also insects, such as the Apollo Butterfly. The high plaines are used to graze sheep, cattle and horses during the summer. All of this splendour is easily accessible through a series of well established trails and paths ideal for trekking, mountain biking and horse riding. Moving east towards the coast the terrain becomes gentler with rolling hills containing vineyards and olive groves.

The culture & cuisine

The Vestina area is one of the undiscovered culinary centres of Italy. The diverse geography and largely rural nature of the area combines with a local passion and tradition for food. This has created an area with many high quality restaurants who use local ingredients and produce dishes ranging from Italian and Abruzzan classics to popular local dishes with their origins deeply rooted in the area.

The people of the area are renowned for their hospitality and hold dear their traditions cuisine and music. The principle villages of the area are Villla Celiera, Civitella Casanova and Monte Bello. All have a long, colourful and influential history and act as a gateway to both the area and central Abruzzo.

Beaches, swimming pools & Pescara

While the area has its own unique feel it also posesses many of the traditional holiday facilities such as swimming pools and is within easy reach of the Adriatic Beach resorts (40 mins) and Pescara with its night life restaurants and amenities (40mins).
