Vale da Palha is located in the green hills North of Lisbon. It is the perfect place for people who enjoy tranquility and nature. The region is known as Silver Coast, and through the centuries, has been the cultural heart of Portugal. This is seen in the historical towns and the many cultural festivities.
Cabana
This cottage is probably the most special of the three rental homes. This is the most spacious house, with the best view on the floating wooden veranda overlooking the valley. The solar contributes to a carefree showering experience. Upon arrival, bath and kitchen towels are ready and the beds made. The cottage has a supply of books and DVDs for the evenings.

Coast
Along the coast you have sandy beaches, but also steep cliffs and sand dunes in all colors. The bay of São Martinho offers several possible trails. Finding the the Spring of Santa Ana is one challenge worth the try. The residents swear by it’s healing properties.
Nature
Vale da Palha is located 15 km from the protected area Paul the Tornada. Is It is one of the few wetlands in the region, with an area of 46 ha, of which 25 ha is permanently flooded. Paul de Tornada is a Ramsar area and therefore this swamp is a wetland of international importance, rich with flora and fauna of great importance, especially birds. The 'Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros' nature reserve also offers dozens of hiking trails, which you can walk without GPS.
There are around eighty golf courses in Portugal. Many have been designed by famous architects, such as Henry Cotton, Rocky Roquemore and Arnold Palmer, and they all share environmental quality and harmoniously blend into the landscape. And the best part is: they are near Vale da Palha.
