Located about 85 km from the city of Porto and 7,5 km from Mosteirô Train Station. We can provided means to pick you up at this train station but Car hire is recommended so you can explore all the beautiful places on the area. At 9 km from Marina Aregos (where there are docks for boating, water sports, bars and nightlife). In front of the House, on the other side of the Douro, there's the spa of Caldas de Aregos (indicated for treatment of rheumatism, skin and respiratory diseases).
The Douro region is dry in the summer and icy cold in the winter; it is a land of contrasts: the beautifully kept vineyards and almond and olive trees that appear in the local cuisine are in direct contrast with the stretches of harsh and wild terrain and the fertile highlands with their varied fruits and vegetables.
In the region you can also find three protected areas of great environment relevance, the International Douro Nature Park, the Alvão Nature Park and the Azibo’s Lagoon Protected Landscape, where visitors can lose themselves in the beautiful landscape that ranges from spectacular views to waterfalls, springs, fluvial beaches and rare plant life that is home to wild animals and many other hidden treasures.
In the Douro region, nature lives in harmony with the farmers who are able to work the land while preserving the scenery and maintaining its beauty intact.
