Le Fitou is a wing of an old Winemaker's House with 3 bedrooms and a large pool
The Winemaker's House in Mirepeisset has two 3 bedroom Gites both with swimming pools and is an ideal base for exploring the Languedoc- Roussillon area.
LE FITOU Gite comfortably sleeps 6 and is furnished to a high standard. It has its own private front entrance which opens into a foyer, which leads into the spacious beamed living room with two large windows overlooking the courtyard. There is Wi Fi, Cable TV and a CD Player. Off the living room is a separate laundry room equipped with a washing machine and toilet. Also off the living room is the fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc. The glass kitchen door allows in plenty of light as well as leading you out to your private patio and the pool area. Adjoining the living room is a separate dining room with large window overlooking your patio, and the stairs leading to the upper floor. The master bedroom has a large window overlooking the pool and walled garden; the master bedroom is en suite. There are two twin bedrooms, both with windows overlooking the courtyard, and a large shared bathroom.
LE FITOU is tiled throughout the ground floor, has parking facilities on the property with a gate, the windows have curtains and shutters, and is equipped with central heating for chillier months. There is a patio area for your private use, partly covered for shelter, if desired, from the hot sun. There are tables and chairs, a BBQ, sun beds with comfortable cushions and parasols. Linen and towels are included (and special beach towels can also be provided)
Besides your private patio, the entire garden and pool patio surround is also for your use. There are also pool toys and floats.
The swimming pool is a large 5 metre x 11 metre (17 feet x 36 feet), set into a beautiful walled & landscaped provincial garden. The pool & garden are a shared space with the friendly owners who live next door. The owners have a totally separate patio area screened from Le Fitou, but will be seen gardening and maintaining the pool. (We usually try to do this early in the morning or when you have gone off for the day!) As far as swimming and sunbathing go, the same applies…. we tend to use the facilities when you are off doing other things!

We spent a family holiday at Le Fitou in July 2015 and I can honestly say it was one of the best we have had. Le Fitou is a charming and very well-kept property. There were only four of us, but it could have very comfortably accommodated six and it is very reasonably priced. Indeed, it considerably exceeded our expectations. The house is spotless and very well equipped with some nice little touches, including generous basic food essentials on arrival, vases of fresh-cut flowers, good quality linen and towels and plenty of toiletries. Every morning we would stroll to the lovely little village shop to buy delicious fresh bread and croissants. We would be back by the time the coffee had brewed. For an excellent choice of fish, meat, local fruit and vegetables there’s a good supermarket only a few minutes drive away and the gated parking directly in front of the house makes it all very convenient. At the back is a lovely private patio for relaxing and eating al fresco. For our 12 year old twin boys the very well maintained and good size swimming pool was one of the highlights. It is very safe and it is very quiet and peaceful, set in the pretty and well-tended walled garden. Other than on the few occasions when we could persuade the boys to go exploring the nearby towns and countryside they spent most of their time in the pool and rated it 10/10, both for fun and cleanliness. Although shared with the owners, you rarely see them as they are very discreet and only tend to use it when guests are not there. But when you do want to see them, Roger and Jane are fantastic hosts and always happy to provide excellent suggestions of places and nearby restaurants to visit. The white-water canoeing and a privately chartered boat trip on the Canal du Midi were great fun. For a change from the pool, there is some lovely nearby river swimming and the beach that they recommended at Narbonne was very pleasant and uncrowded. It has given us some lovely memories and the boys are already asking when we will be going back …

We have rented this place 4 times in the last 8 years. The only place in the world we've ever gone back to more than once! The rental is clean, spacious and well-equipped. The pool and garden are well maintained and you just feel all of your stresses melting away while sitting on the patio enjoying local wine, cheese and produce. We can't get enough of this area and all it has to offer - local markets, beaches, wine-tasting, early morning runs along the Canal du Midi, white water rafting in the Pyrenees, day trips to Spain, kayaking, etc.

The Wine Makers House was built C.1820 in the quiet and typically french medieval village of Mirepeisset. Le Fitou, situated within one end of the house, shares the garden and swimming pool. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean, modern an spacious whilst keeping the wonderful character features & feelings of an old building. We arrived late and tired but where very much welcomed and found the site equipped with milk, eggs, cheese, bread and butter, etc .. .. all basic essentials and very much appreciated. The walled gardens are beautiful and we had freshly cut flowers in our gite. Bed linen, towels, etc is of a high quality as is the furniture and kitchen equipment making holiday cooking a bit easier. Jane & Roger proved to be very amenable hosts and couldn't do enough for us. We shared their garden & swimming pool which was no problem as they were usually out or working inside their house most days. They provided us with suggested places of interest and even maps and tips such as best time to visit and closing times. There is shop in the village for further food supplies and a good local restaurant and also a beautiful walk by the canal to the next village where we ate top class food and drank several bottles of local wine resulting in a fun walk back. ! ! .. We charted a private boat on the Canal du Midi which was terrific fun but weren’t quite brave enough for the local white water rafting…maybe next time.? ? .. Nabonne is a beautiful interesting city with a wonderful market but also a very long uncrowded beach with lots of water sports available. We also visited Minerve, perched over the meeting of rivers at the end of the limestone plateau and surrounded by deep gorges cut where the Brian and Cesse meet. It is spectactularly beautiful and the drive up there compasses stunning scenery. Highly recommended. There is so much other to do in this area and activities would accommodate all ages groups. I can not recommend Le Fitou enough as the whole place is lovely. am doe cant wait to go back. Thank you Jane & Roger for making our holiday the best ever.

Nothing was too much trouble for Roger & Jane. They made us feel like friends rather than customers. When I wanted to take my son to see a Montpelier game, Roger even booked it on his card as I was having difficulty, as well as lending his golf umbrellas for the game! The gite was lovely, great location, the pool fantastic. Our gite shared the pool with Roger/Jane but this was not a problem, and gave us access to the much larger pool! Would definitely stay again, highly recommended.

Payment Policy

Guests are asked to pay a 25% deposit on booking (or the full amount if 8 weeks or less before start date)
Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to start date.
Normal change over day is Saturday (1630 check in, 1030 check out)
Guests are asked to pay a £200 refundable damage deposit prior to start date.

Cancelation Policy
|
|
In the event of a cancellation, the 25% deposit will be retained by us. However, we shall try to re-let the property. If we are successful, we shall retain any expenses or losses incurred in so doing but refund you the rest. If however, we are unable to re-let the property, the following shall apply:
1.) Between 60 and 90 days: 50% of paid deposit refunded, or 75% if the full price was paid, unless re-let.
2.) Between 30 and 60 days: 50% of the full price refunded, unless re-let.
3.) Less than 30 days: 25% of the full price refunded, unless re-let.
4.) 14 or less days: no refund, unless able to re-let.
The client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have cover for the party’s personal belongings, and public liability, since these are not covered by the owners insurance.
