A serene spot from which to discover the Camino de Santiago. Return to a warm hostess, organic vegetarian food and restful spaces
You’ll feel you can unwind here in this squeaky green, slow-loving, very beautiful new house. Remarkable Katrine, who exudes happiness and tranquillity, has created something very special indeed for weary city dwellers or anybody seeking to wind down the pace. Vegetarian (and vegan) breakfasts are carefully prepared, much is homemade, some homegrown, and you can have dinner here outside of the busy summer months. If meat you must have then there’s a reasonable local bar/restaurant a small walk away or several within a short drive.
You may not want to leave once you find (some have difficulty so take care) this large wooden structure which seamlessly brings together Katrine’s house, the B&B in the middle with its light and airy communal rooms, then a Pilgrims’ hostel on the end – the name means ‘a rest for the walker’. Bedrooms are all different, all colour-themed, much choice is yours around important things like the type of pillow you have and each has a balcony where you can breakfast if you prefer to be alone. There are communal gardens, walks galore from the door, stunning beaches and attractive rural villages are close.
